Overview

[68Ga]Ga-CC09-1 is a gallium-68 (^68Ga) labeled radiopharmaceutical developed as a positron emission tomography (PET) tracer for imaging the expression of LAG-3 (Lymphocyte activation gene 3) in tumor microenvironments. It specifically binds to LAG-3-expressing cells, allowing non-invasive visualization and quantification of LAG-3+ lymphocyte infiltration in tumors and other tissues. The agent is used for immunoPET imaging and demonstrates selective uptake in LAG-3 positive tumors, high tumor-to-background contrast, and rapid elimination from non-target tissues, primarily via the kidneys. Its mechanism exploits the interaction with LAG-3, providing a tool for evaluating tumor immunology and potentially predicting responses to immunotherapies targeting LAG-3. The agent is in early human testing with established safety and pharmacokinetics, showing promise for clinical use in the assessment of tumor immune microenvironments[1][3].
